Nick Suzuki is no longer just a safe fantasy hockey pick. He is now the engine of the Montreal Canadiens offense, a point-per-game-plus center, and one of the most important fantasy players to evaluate heading into the 2026-27 NHL season.
After posting 29 goals and 72 assists for 101 points in 82 games last season, Suzuki has officially moved into the elite fantasy conversation. The question now is not whether he can help your fantasy team. The real question is whether he can push even higher and become a top-tier fantasy center who challenges for 110-plus points.
My early Nick Suzuki point projections 2026-27 forecast is 34 goals and 78 assists for 112 points with the Montreal Canadiens.
That may sound aggressive, but I do not view it as reckless. Suzuki’s fantasy profile checks almost every box I look for in a premium center: heavy minutes, first-line deployment, power-play responsibility, high-end playmaking, durability, and chemistry with a young core that still has room to grow. He is not relying on one hot shooting season or sheltered offensive-zone minutes. He is driving the Canadiens’ attack.
Why Nick Suzuki Can Build on His 101-Point Season
The biggest reason I am bullish on Suzuki is the structure around him. The Canadiens power play gives him a legitimate runway to repeat, or even improve on, last season’s production. Playing with Cole Caufield, Ivan Demidov, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Lane Hutson gives Suzuki multiple finishing options and multiple ways to collect assists.
Caufield remains the pure shooter. Demidov adds creativity and east-west puck movement. Slafkovsky gives Montreal size, puck retrieval, and a net-front presence. Hutson is the type of offensive defenseman who can extend possessions and create second-chance opportunities from the blue line. For Suzuki, that is fantasy gold.
From a fantasy hockey perspective, Suzuki’s assist ceiling is the most attractive part of his profile. A 72-assist season is not easy to repeat, but his role makes it sustainable. He touches the puck constantly, runs the middle of the ice, and is trusted in every important offensive situation. If Montreal’s power play takes another step, Suzuki could realistically flirt with 80 assists.

My personal read: Suzuki is the type of player I would rather draft one round early than miss entirely. He does not have the same name-brand fantasy shine as Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, or Macklin Celebrini, but the gap between Suzuki and the next tier of centers is shrinking fast.
The Canadiens are also built in a way that supports continued offensive growth. This is not an aging roster trying to squeeze one last season out of its top players. Montreal’s best offensive pieces are still entering or approaching their prime. That matters. Suzuki is already polished, but the players around him are still climbing. That combination can create a fantasy spike.
Using my own fantasy-value model, Suzuki grades out as a strong “buy” because his role security, power-play usage, linemate quality, and recent production all point in the same direction. The only real concern is regression after a 101-point season, but even if he slips slightly, he still projects as an elite fantasy contributor.
For fantasy managers, the strategy is simple: do not treat Suzuki like a one-year breakout. Treat him like a legitimate 100-point threat with room to add more if Montreal’s power play becomes one of the NHL’s most dangerous units.
